For the Oregon Natural Desert Association’s March High Desert Speaker Series event, wildlife experts Calla Hagle and Carter Crouch will share stories of the varied and exciting work that the Burns Paiute Tribe’s Natural Resources Department is doing on the Tribe’s properties. ONDA has worked in partnership with the Burns Paiute Tribe since 2011 on properties they own to support tribal efforts to improve fish and wildlife habitat on land that includes the headwaters of the Malheur River and core sage-grouse habitat. Their presentation will cover far-ranging topics including the Tribe’s nest box program, propagating locally-collected seeds for planting with ONDA, increasing habitat connectivity in the Malheur River corridor and monitoring at-risk mule deer and Greater sage-grouse populations.
Space is limited and registration is required.
